Katla Volcano

Katla, one of Iceland’s most active volcanoes, lies beneath Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Known for its powerful eruptions and devastating glacial floods, Katla has erupted more than 20 times since 930 AD. The volcano is a popular spot for adventure tours, including ice cave explorations, and offers opportunities to view the Northern Lights in winter.
